Hispanic Heritage Month at the Houston Farmers Market

The Houston Farmers Market will kick off the start of Hispanic Heritage Month with a lively celebration on Saturday, September 13, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Houstonians of all ages are invited to enjoy a day of entertainment and cultural performances, including a Spanish puppet show for children by Mr. Leo Puppet Show, appearances from beloved characters, live music from a DJ, Mariachi, and the high-energy Cumbia band Son Bayou. The celebration also features a FREE Salsa class from Latin Dance Factory and a performance by Mixteco Ballet Folklorico.

Visitors can browse Shop Local Market’s weekend pop-up, filled with artisan goods and unique finds from local small businesses, and take part in a free wind chime art station during the festivities. Savor the flavors of the day with bites from Alamo Tamales or indulge in savory sandwiches and the Hispanic Heritage Month–inspired Fuego Burger at Underbelly Burger. Guests can also check out other on-site favorites like Toddler Towns, Drop Shots, and R-C Ranch, then wander into the open-air pavilion to discover exotic fruits and fresh produce to take home.
