Home Safe Home Gala

“Home Safe Home” represents AVDA’s goal to make every home a safe one that is free of abuse. The annual gala benefits AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse), a nonprofit organization that has served Harris County for 38 years by providing transformational, lifesaving services to victims of abuse and their families. AVDA recently expanded its free legal aid program to Fort Bend County.

Now in its 13th year, the 2018 Home Safe Home Gala will feature some of Houston’s top chefs and their culinary creations expertly paired with wines selected by event sommelier, Antonio Gianola, plus an auction. 

During the event, the Joseph D. Jamail Award for Justice will be presented to former AVDA board member Lynn Kamin, a partner with the Jenkins & Kamin LLP law firm who devotes her time and resources to advocating on behalf of children and families going through tough and emotional legal challenges. Cyndy Garza Roberts, director of public affairs for HEB, will receive AVDA’s Heart of Houston Award for her “exemplary service to Houston and its citizens through philanthropy and volunteerism.”
