Houston At-Home "Angst" Screening
With school out, extracurricular activities cancelled and limited access to friends, more teens are likely experiencing isolation, anxiety and concern about the future. To help, The Hackett Center for Mental Health and Okay to Say are hosting a free, online screening of the national documentary Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety for 1,000 families in the Greater Houston between May 4-10, 2020, which is also National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week. This one-hour film is helps parents better recognize the signs of youth anxiety while identifying positive ways to have conversations on the topic with their families. Registration is first-come first served.
A post-viewing online toolkit for families includes an at-home discussion guide, suggested resources and video interview with licensed therapist Marcy Melvin and Angst film producer Karin Gornick.
