James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour
Culinary stars from around the country will gather at Third Coast Restaurant for one night to prepare a special dinner as part of the James Beard Celebrity Chefs Tour.
On Thursday, Oct. 11, Third Coast Executive Chef Jon Buchanan and his staff will play hosts of a dinner that is bringing culinary talents from coast to coast to benefit the James Beard Foundation. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and passed canapes, followed by a seated, five-course dinner at 7 p.m.
Featured chefs for the dinner are:

- JBF Award Winner Michael Mina (with Chef Jeremy McMillan) ~ Bourbon Steak, PABU, and International Smoke, San Francisco
- JBF Award Winner Hugo Ortega (with Chef Ruben Ortega) ~ Backstreet Cafe, Hugo’s, Caracol, and Xochi, Houston
- Kevin Gillespie ~ Gunshow and Gamechanger, Atlanta; and Revival, Decatur, GA
- Mike McKinney (with Chef Jonathan Insetta) ~ Orsay, Jacksonville, FL
The menu for the evening is as follows:
1st course
Frisee, roasted beets, truffled beet puree, grana panna cotta and beet powder

Sea scallop crudo, house made turmeric buttermilk, radish, basil, dill, trout roe, pumpernickel
