Japan Junction: Oshogatsu 2023

Leap into the New Year in Japanese fashion! Make certain your Year of the Rabbit gets off to an auspicious start as JAPAN JUNCTION celebrates OSHOGATSU. Try your hand at Kakizome (the first Japanese calligraphy of the year), play traditional Japanese new year games, make a daruma goal setting doll, and pound mochi! 

There is no time like the New Year to welcome in good fortune! Bring the whole family and enjoy activities for kids of all ages with Japan America Society of Houston. The event and all activities are free.

Craft Tent: Origami and Nengajo Card Making (11am – 12pm), Daruma Painting and Coloring – first 34 people get a real daruma doll! (12 – 1pm), and Kakizome Calligraphy (1 – 2pm)
