Lost Austin Band at McGonigel's Mucky Duck, Houston

Whether you were around "back in the day" and long to hear this great music again or just enjoy great songs played by amazing musicians, this August 29th concert at the Mucky Duck is for you! Take the best of the Texas songwriters like Jerry Jeff Walter, Guy Clark, Willie Nelson, Willis Alan Ramsey, Townes Van Zandt and Michael Murphy, sweeten them up with guys who were part of the "progressive county" explosion of the mid-1970s, and you've got the music of the Lost Austin Band.

Ernie Gammage, Bill Browder, David Moerbe, Patterson Barrett and Craig Hillis were making music deep in the era from which their music comes. Hillis played on albums by Jerry Jeff Walter and Michal Murphey including Jerry Jeff's seminal 1973 LP, "Viva Terlingua!" which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Patterson Barrett played on Jerry Jeff's version of Guy Clark's "LA Freeway." Bill Browder and David Moerbe are the core of Houston country-rock band, "Denim," who have been performing since the 1970s and have multiple release on major labels. Ernie Gammage has as long history as a songwriter and performer whose Texas bands include Plum Nelly, Mother of Pearl, and Ernie Sky & the K Tels. All are member of the Texas Music Legends Hall of Fame.
