Louisiana Brings a Taste of Mardi Gras to Houston!

The Louisiana Office of Tourism will officially launch the Louisiana: Feed Your Soul brand to the nation by bringing a taste of carnival season to four major cities across the southern United States – Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. The brand launch coincides with Mardi Gras or "Fat Tuesday” which signifies the last day before Lenten season. Louisiana is a place where you can “Feed Your Soul” in any number of ways including its world-renowned cuisine, indigenous music or unique culture.

To draw attention to the campaign, representatives from the Louisiana Office of Tourism and statewide tourism partners are traveling to each of these four major cities with one common goal: sharing the hospitality and celebration that make Louisiana a place to “feed your soul.”

Louisiana-wrapped food trucks will serve Mardi Gras king cake amid a festival atmosphere with Mardi Gras music, beads and cups, along with a selfie station. Guests on-site can register to win a Louisiana trip for two!

Lt. Governor Nungesser will be in Washington, D.C. handing out king cake and assisting tourism volunteers in promoting Louisiana and the new brand.

Houston locals can find the “Feed Your Soul” food truck parked at Hermann Square (900 Smith Street) from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and at the House of Blues (204 Caroline Street) from 4-8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
