The Prelude Music Foundation invites school communities and families with young children to an interactive, educational, and engaging live-music event designed especially for our youngest audience members, sponsored in part by the City of Houston through the Miller Theatre Advisory Board!

Led by Prelude Music Foundation Music Specialists and professional musicians from Houston’s top orchestral organizations—including the Houston Symphony, Apollo Chamber Players, and Mercury Chamber Orchestra—this dynamic concert will have children and families singing, dancing, and celebrating the power of music together.

Perfect for children from birth through 1st grade, this developmentally appropriate performance offers a welcoming and immersive musical experience. Our goal is to create an inclusive, joyful, and high-quality live-music event where young children can experience the transformative power of live music in a fun, interactive way.

At the Prelude Music Foundation, we believe that music is a birthright. Through the research-based Music Together® curriculum, we provide weekly music and movement classes to PreK and Kindergarten students in 13 schools across Houston’s underserved communities. We bring singing, dancing, and playful learning to preschool classrooms. Using music to nurture literacy and numeracy skills, while supporting the self-regulation and social development of the students we serve during the most formative years of their lives. We also offer free music programming for families at Casa de Esperanza de Los Niños and Ronald McDonald House Houston, supporting children experiencing illness and trauma.

We can’t wait to make music with you at Miller Outdoor Theatre! Come sing, dance, and celebrate with us—because music is for everyone!
