Opening Reception: 'The Color of Expression' by Gary T. Murphy

Come check out native Houstonian’s debut art exhibition on Saturday, April 26th at REEVES ART + DESIGN in Montrose. The art debut of Gary T. Murphy will be a celebration of his dynamic and vibrant work. Gary T. Murphy is a Houston native abstract artist, who has always dabbled in art for self-expression but recently decided to turn his passion into his life’s work and just launched his first abstract art collection, GTM’s Art World. Known for his bold and expressive abstract pieces, Gary’s work captures emotion through bright colors, movement, emotion and texture.

The show will feature lite bites and wine, fellow Houston artists Taft McWhorter & Allan Rodewald, with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to Kids Meals.

The show takes place Saturday, April 26, 2025 5–9 p.m., with an artist talk at 7 p.m. and music by DJ SOULTOWER 606

There will also be a special showing of original works by David Adickes, the 98-year-old nationally renowned artist and sculptor, best known for his iconic 67-foot Sam Houston statue in Huntsville, TX.
