Paws on Parade at Discovery Green

All Houstonians and their dogs are invited to Discovery Green on Saturday, March 26 from 11 am – 1 pm.

Paws on Parade features a walk around Discovery Green for all to participate in led by the second line sounds of the Free Rads Street Trio followed by a costume contest. Dog-friendly vendors, including BARC, will be on site. Participants who get their pet “passports” stamped by these vendors will be eligible for a sweepstake drawing.

Dogs in the most creative costumes are eligible for prizes of $25, $50 and $100. Not all dogs need to participate in the costume contest, but all must be well-socialized, on a leash, and accompanied by an adult.

Paws on Parade is part of a $35,000 fundraising and awareness campaign for the repairs needed to Discovery Green’s Dog Runs. Discovery Green Conservancy has received a generous gift to partially fund much-needed repairs to its dog runs. Funds raised at the event will aid in these repairs and care for Discovery Green’s Dog Runs.

9:30 – 10:45 am: Registration is open
11 am: Parade begins (all are invited to join!)
12 pm: Free Rads Street Trio concert on Hess Deck
12:30 pm: Judges deliberate
12:45 pm: Winners announced
