"Photos y Recuerdos" Opening Reception Celebration at White Linen Night

The annual celebration of White Linen Night in Houston’s Historic Heights on Aug. 5 will have a decidedly immersive Latin flavor at Casa Ramirez Folkart Gallery. Noted local artist Lizbeth Ortiz will be unveiling her latest exhibit, “Photos y Recuerdos,” while Casa Ramirez stalwarts Jesus and Maria Lozano — known as BOSSA II — will add festive notes with their variety of Latin musical styles, accompanied by percussionist Stephen Araujo.

The celebration will run from 6-10 p.m. Ortiz, who both displays and teaches at the gallery, says the inspiration for her new series comes from memories with loved ones and experiences while traveling.
