Pines Presbyterian Church MobilePack for Feed My Starving Children

An exciting, upbeat community event is coming to West Houston! Jan. 20-21, 500 volunteers will rally to be a part of the world hunger solution through a partnership between Pines Presbyterian Church and non-profit Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). During 8 two-hour shifts, 500 volunteers from across West Houston will make a difference by packing, with their own two hands, more than 100,000 meals in just 2 days!

A Christian non-profit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries, where they’re used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. Last year, FMSC welcomed more than 1 million volunteers to pack nearly 273 million meals. The Minnesota-based charity spends more than 90% of total donations directly on feeding the hungry and has earned the highest four-star rating from Charity Navigator for 11 consecutive years.

MobilePack events enable children and adults across the United States to pack FMSC’s life-giving MannaPack™ meals. Churches, businesses, community groups and schools in more than 35 states have hosted these food-packing events as a way to foster teamwork and unity, while making a real difference in the fight to prevent and reverse malnutrition. FMSC provides guidance and logistics. Local donors and volunteers provide funds and labor to pack the meals.
