Star-Spangled Events in West University

On July 2, pack your lawn chairs and come rock out with the West U School of Rock at Colonial Park. Admission is free for West U residents, but regular admission fees will apply for patrons wishing to enjoy the concert from the pool. Non-resident guests must be accompanied by a resident. Capacity may be limited due to high demand.

On July 3, come with “bells and whistles” and dressed in your best patriotic fashion to participate in the annual patriotic bike parade! Bikers will take their marks outside of City Hall at the corner of University and Auden at 8:45 a.m. and will take off at 9:00 a.m. sharp, making a circle around Town Center and back to City Hall. Not only can you dress in fashion, you can decorate your “wheels” in light of the celebration, too! So get creative with your bikes, tricycles, strollers and wagons and we will see you at the start!

On July 4, the weekend celebration concludes with fun family games at Colonial Park Pool from noon – 5:00 p.m. There will be a series of contests – with prizes* – you will not want to miss! Here is the timeline of events in order to make plans to attend one or all!

1 p.m. – Water Balloon Toss
2 p.m. – Frozen T-Shirt 
3 p.m. – Kids Cannonball Splash
4 p.m. – Belly Flop

Registration is required to participate in the contests and can be made the day of the event. Space is limited for each contest. Regular pool admission applies, non-resident guests must be accompanied by a resident. Capacity may be limited due to high demand.
