Texas Children's Hospital presents Annie at Levy Park
Come on out and watch Annie (2014), sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital, at Family Movie Night at Levy Park on Sept. 28. Annie is a young, cheerful foster child who's also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York. In this 2014 adaptation of the 1977 Broadway musical, she is left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they would return for her. It’s been a hard-knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). Yet everything is about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he's her guardian angel, but Annie's self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it's the other way around. Quvenzhané Wallis charms as Annie.
Family Movie Night is on the last Friday of each month, and admission is free. No outside furniture is allowed, but blankets or park chairs can be used.
Guests can enjoy food and beverage service from 5-9 p.m. from Coffee-Q. Well-known on the streets of Houston, Coffee-Q features a Qold Brew coffee made from a 15-hour infusion of Guatemalan roasted beans uniquely presented with a twist of international influences. Their signature brisket and pulled pork ‘Q (BBQ) is incorporated into a variety of dishes including tacos, sandwiches, and nachos – all loaded with big, Texas pecan-smoked flavor.
