Uptown Virtual Holiday Lighting Countdown Video

Uptown Houston will kick off the holiday season with an exciting, memory-filled virtual countdown video, featuring Uptown holiday memories, to be unveiled on Thanksgiving evening, November 26th.

In compliance with the City of Houston’s COVID-19 guidelines, Uptown is unable to host the traditional Uptown Holiday Lighting event this year.

The public is invited to share their holiday memories in Uptown for a chance to be featured in this new rendition of a treasured community tradition. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, November 4th.

The virtual countdown holiday video will be posted to Uptown Houston’s Facebook, Instagram and YouTube Thanksgiving evening, Thursday, November 26th.

Throughout the holiday season, over 300, 20-foot-tall holiday trees will line Post Oak Boulevard from the West Loop to Richmond Avenue. The artisan-fabricated holiday trees are an amazing integration of lighting technology that create a stunning multi-colored light show with 16,777,216 color possibilities across 2 miles of Post Oak Boulevard. The dancing light show can be enjoyed 24-hours a day either driving along Post Oak Boulevard or strolling the new pedestrian-friendly Boulevard with widened sidewalks. Uptown visitors can enjoy the holiday tree light show synced to festive music by downloading the Uptown Radio app, available now on Apple App Store and Google App Store.
