St. John’s School midfielder Ashton Anton (pictured, at right) dodges Presbyterian School’s Zach Kroencke (at left) in a lacrosse game with the Houston Junior Preparatory Conference. The SJS Mavericks won the conference championship last season. Ashton’s love of the game comes naturally, as his father played lacrosse for Washington and Lee University, and his younger brothers also play for St. John’s. Ashton has played lacrosse since he was in kindergarten, and has previously played for both the HYLAX Hornets and the Chupacabras. He practices with the St. John’s team every day during the spring season, and he plans to play for a Texas United club team this summer.
