United Orthodox Synagogues

The 2015 Houston Kosher Chili Cookoff  champs from United Orthodox Synagogues.

This Sunday, the 6th annual Houston Kosher Chili Cook-Off will be held at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center, 12-4 p.m. The event will include activities and entertainment such as live music, a moonwalk, climbing walls, balloon artists, a jalapeno-eating contest, a silent auction and, of course, sampling chili. Proceeds will benefit Houston Jewish day schools and the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center’s Meals on Wheels. There will also be a blood drive as well as a marrow drive for those in need.

During this year’s event, the City of Houston and Council Member Ellen Cohen will present a proclamation naming Feb. 28 as “Kosher Chili Cookoff Day.”
