Mother-daughter triathlon
Shelly Levy (pictured, at left) has participated in several Houston Racquet Club triathlons and enjoys the multi-sport event. A few months ago, her 75-year-old mother Anita Seline (at right) said she wanted to join Shelly in the race – an item on her bucket list. On June 11, they both completed the race at just under two hours. Shelly said her mom is an inspiration to her as well as everyone around her. “I have participated in four triathlons, and my 22-year-old daughter did it with me last fall. My mom really enjoyed this challenging event and hopes to have all three generations participate next fall.” She said they encourage each other to stay active by taking spinning and weight-training classes on a regular basis. Anita said the best part of this triathlon was when the other participants waited for them to finish and made a bridge for her to run through at the finish line.
