Karbach Brewing Co.
Burgers and craft beer make a great combination. Karbach Brewing Company in near northwest Houston has a chef-driven kitchen with inspired offerings in the on-site restaurant and patio. Overlooking the brewery is an industrial yet inviting setting with dining tables, bar tables and a long bar flanked by beers on tap. The Brewhouse Burger has 44 Farms grass-fed beef topped with leafy lettuce, white-cheddar cheese, beefsteak tomato and house-made pickles. The sweet Hawaiian bun is lightly toasted. A side of crispy thin fries comes with the burger. Other not-to-be-missed menu items include shrimp and grits, Brussels sprouts, and crispy Korean fried chicken. On a recent Saturday at 6:30 p.m., the place was packed and there was an hour wait. I suggest either making a reservation or enjoying the lunch menu, but even if you do wait, it’s a fun place to spend time sampling beers (Weekend Warrior pale ale), enjoying some appetizers (Blackbird pretzel served with house boudin), and people watching (too many varieties to list).
