An evening at the opera
More than 150 guests gathered at The Webster clothing store to celebrate the Houston Grand Opera and HGO’s Young Patrons Circle. Guests sipped bubbles and enjoyed bites from Artisans Restaurant as HGO’s assistant artistic director, Paul Hopper, hosted a preview of the season, which opens Oct. 20 with a new production of Verdi’s La Traviata. HGO studio artists, bass Anthony Robin Schneider and pianist Peter Walsh, wowed party-goers with a performance of Verdi’s “Il Lacerato Spirito” from Simon Boccanegra. The evening was hosted by The Webster and HGO YPC members Carrie and Sverre Brandsberg-Dahl.
