Incarnate Word Academy students welcomed the Astros home to Minute Maid Park.

The Incarnate Word Academy community, which is located right across the street from Minute Maid Park, welcomed the Astros home to Minute Maid and celebrated the recent World Series win in style. Students wore Astros gear with their uniforms, painted the windows of classrooms, created a huge sign in front of the school and had a sidewalk-art themed celebration to celebrate the Astros’ triumphant return to Minute Maid Park. The energy was high and the students’ enthusiasm contagious.

Incarnate Word has a strong history with the Astros. The late Sister Damian was known for her love of baseball; then-owner of the team, Drayton McLane, provided her with box seats and a golf cart trip across the street to the stadium. On Astros game nights, the school sells its parking lots to raise money for the school.
