Picnic in the Park
Evelyn’s Park will celebrate their first anniversary and Earth Day on Saturday with Picnic in the Park. Enjoy a day of picnicking and festivities across their great lawn and gathering spaces. There will be entertainment, fitness classes, kids’ activities, treasure hunts around the newly revealed “Move One Place On” Alice in Wonderland sculpture, food, drinks and more.
Earth Day at the Arboretum
Enjoy nature at Houston Arboretum and Nature Center's on Saturday at the annual Earth Day Celebration! Festivities include hikes, a wildlife habitat booth, face painting, recycled material crafts, live reptiles, educational demos, food trucks and more.
Blessing of the Animals
The eighth annual Blessing of the Animals will take place at Bellaire United Methodist Church on Saturday. At this fun, family-friendly and pet-friendly event, people of all faiths are invited to bring their pets to receive a blessing from one of the church’s pastors. Plus, your pet will receive a free commemorative photo of that special moment from Nikky LaWell Photography.
Party for the Planet
The Houston Zoo is hosting Party for the Planet on Saturday and Sunday in honor of Earth Day. Activities include an educational, fun maze, scavenger hunt, DJ, mural, Meet the Keeper talks and more.

San Jacinto Day Festival & Battle Reenactment
Experience history at the San Jacinto Day Festival & Battle Reenactment, which will take place on Sunday on the grounds surrounding the San Jacinto Monument. The reenactment recreates the events leading up to Texas winning its independence from Mexica on April 21, 1836. The festival includes family activities, cultural exhibits, a petting zoo, music, food, medicine wagon show, games and more.
