Houston Hometown Heroes
A year after Hurricane Harvey, the Children’s Museum of Houston is proud to remember the hometown heroes who went out of their way to make our city and communities a better place. The museum commemorates the occasion with inspirational stories.
The first 200 children at admissions will receive "There’s a hero inside all of us" bookmarks.
Activities:
- Inspirational Storytime with Bryan Carroll (11-11:30 a.m.: Join local author as he reads his story "Super Sharing" and discusses the core values of a hero in the Brown Auditorium.
- Inspirational Storytime with Melanie Lawson (3:15 p.m.: Award-winning journalist ABC 13 journalist makes her way to the Museum for storytime in the Parent Resource Library.
- Reflect on Our Heroes: Write and post your thoughts on what it means to be a hero for your community in the Parent Resource Library.
- Create a Planet: Design and transform your own planet and tell us all about it at Art Academy.
- Back in a Flash Mask: Be as fast as the Flash when you create your own mask at Junktion.
- Pyramid Hologram Projector: Signal to superheroes using 3 sided pyramids at Science Station.
