Karbachtoberfest 2018
Karbachtoberfest, which kicked off Thursday, Sept. 20, is a three-week celebration with live music, beer, food and more. This weekend, look forward to Los Skarnales on Friday and Misterwives on Saturday. Biergarten festivities start at 5 p.m. each night Thursdays-Saturdays and 12 p.m. on Sundays.
Mid-Autumn Fest
Celebrate the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Fest at The Children’s Museum on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Explore and experience a variety of traditions, including lion dancers, story time, a costume workshop and fashion show, arts and crafts and more.
Menil Reopening Celebration
After a seven-month hiatus, The Menil’s main building will reopen with entirely new displays of artwork. On Saturday starting at 11 a.m., celebrate the reopening with food trucks, live music and art.
Taste of New Orleans
This festival on Saturday afternoon brings a little taste of New Orleans to Houston. The event, which takes place at Jones Plaza starting at 3 p.m., includes live music, food, art, drinks and more.
Whiskies of the World
Sample hundreds of whiskies at the Whiskies of the World Expo on Saturday evening, starting at 6 p.m. at Silver Street Studio.The event, which benefits Helping A Hero, includes the opportunity to meet distillers and brand ambassadors, food, whisky masterclasses (a guided tasting and educational experience), whisky mixology, cigar and whisky pairing and more.
Texas Hot Sauce Festival
Hot sauce fans will love taste-testing all sorts of spicy flavors at the Texas Hot Sauce Festival, Saturday-Sunday at Bayou City Event Center. There will also be shopping, musical performances and more.
