Sudden-death shootout
The Memorial Boys 3d Houston Select Lacrosse team (pictured) won The University of Texas Longhorn Shootout Tournament in Austin. The eighth graders were undefeated in tournament play, beating teams from Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. After winning in the semifinals, 3d Houston advanced to the final divisional game against Austin Elite. The score was 3-3 at the end of regulation time, and 3d Houston won in sudden-death overtime with a goal in the first 45 seconds of play. In addition to winning every game, 3d Houston had a tournament 25-goal differential, scoring 32 goals and allowing only 7.
