Celebrating cultures
West University Elementary School held its first event of the year, the "Red Apple Sale," to welcome families back to school. Families are looking forward to the 2020 International Festival, which will celebrate diversity and feature cultural performances, a parade, food tasting from more than 30 countries and a passport scavenger hunt. This year, the festival will include an environmental theme; students will be encouraged to find out their heritage country's environmental efforts. The festival is Jan. 24 at WUES. Pictured are festival chairs (from left) Selin Salerian, Enrica V. Gray and Natesha Tama-Madison with principal Scott Disch (second from right). To volunteer, email [email protected].
