Going into high school is a tough transition, but Duchesne seniors help make the process a little easier. On Sept. 9, the freshmen met their senior Big Sisters. The Big Sis/Lil Sis program is a long-standing tradition at Duchesne called Fish Week. Over the course of the week, the freshmen dress up in costumes with their Big Sisters, following a different theme each day. The new sisters bonded over locker decorating, a shaving cream war and other fun activities.
Senior Christine Goundry had some advice for the new high school students: “Cherish the time you have with your friends. You have four long years of high school ahead of you, but trust me, the time goes by faster than you could imagine. Before you know it you are trying to make up for lost time, and to make the most of your final year with the people who have become your whole world. So don’t waste time, enjoy every moment making memories with your friends through the hilarious, sometimes sad, and even stressful times because every memory matters.”
