Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend
Happy Hallo-weekend! It’s the weekend before Halloween and there are lots of fun fall events happening around town. Here are some festivities going on this weekend:
World Series
Game 3 of the World Series takes place in Washington on Friday at 7:07 p.m., Game 4 takes place Saturday at 7:07 p.m. and Game 5 takes place Sunday, 7:07 p.m. See our guide to where to watch the World Series and where to find Astros-themed treats around town. #TakeItBack
Zoo Boo
This family-friendly event at the Houston Zoo includes a pumpkin patch, Monster Mural, spooky stamp station, Candy Corn Maze station, Meet the Keeper Talks, DJs and more.
Scream on the Green
On Friday evening, Discovery Green hosts a citywide costume contest and family-friendly Halloween celebration with games, prizes, a movie, performances, living statues, music and more.
Family Movie Night
Levy Park hosts an outdoor screening of Hotel Transylvania 2 on Friday evening. This family-friendly comedy follows Count Dracula as he secretly battles to bring out the vampire-side of his half human, half vampire grandson.
Art @ Discovery Green
More than 70 artists will sell their works at this festival along the Avenida de las Americas and Maconda’s Grove in Discovery Green on Saturday and Sunday, plus a demonstration stage and cultural performances. See a preview of the festival on Friday at Scream on the Green.
Houston ScreamFest
This is more than a haunted house – it’s a haunted festival. Get chills in the haunted attractions, enjoy concerts, horror films, zombies and more.
West U Halloween Dash and Kids’ Fun Run
Dress in costume and dash through the streets of West U on Saturday morning. Proceeds benefit the West U Parks and Recreation Department.
Wildscapes Workshop
Join The Buzz for an informative and interactive session at Nature Discovery Center where you'll learn how to create a yard that's bird- and butterfly-friendly. You'll hear from experts in our own neighborhoods as well as professionals from The Houston Audubon Society and the Houston Zoo and gain the tools to start planting native plants in your garden. Art in the Park
Join for Art in the Park sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital at Evelyn’s Park. Create Flame Free Halloween Luminaries on Saturday.
ARTumn Fest
Browse through art at this experiential festival at CityCentre on Saturday and Sunday including live music, art vendors and more.
Pumpkin Patch Party
Rice Village will host a Pumpkin Patch Party at Morningside Plaza in front of Mendocino Farms and Hopdoddy on Saturday. Enjoy hayrides around the Village, live music, food and drinks, kids’ craft stations and a pumpkin patch pop-up.
Spirits & Skeletons
Dress in your Halloween best and celebrate at Houston Museum of Natural Science’s annual Halloween party, Spirits & Skeletons. Live music, three DJs, food trucks, cocktails and more.
Halloween Pub Crawls
For the 21+ crowd, dress in your best costume and enjoy a pub crawl on Saturday around Montrose, downtown or midtown.
