The 39th annual Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market ushers in Houston’s holiday season with its one-of-a-kind shopping extravaganza.
Happy Friday! Stay warm this weekend. Some fun events include:
Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market
The annual Nutcracker Market takes place at NRG through Sunday. The four-day event hosts more than 260 merchants from across the country, showcasing unique holiday items, gourmet food, apparel, jewelry, accessories, home décor and more. This year’s theme, “Clara’s Dream,” pays homage to the market’s namesake - creating a scene reminiscent of the beautiful Nutcracker Ballet - and plenty of shopping.
Houston Cinema Arts Festival
The Houston Cinema Arts Festival is a five-day, multi-venue festival that includes a multitude of narrative and documentary films, live multimedia performances, panel discussions, Meet the Makers workshops, and free outdoor and student field trip screenings. The festival continues through Monday. See the full lineup here.
Magical Winter Lights

The walk, which is no more than two miles, will be low intensity and open to all abilities. Surrounding the walk will be a series of events, including entertainment and a diversity expo.
The Gr8 Taco Challenge
8th Wonder's The Gr8 Taco Challenge on Sunday will include more than 20+ bars and restaurants serving up tacos, live music and, of course, 8th Wonder brews. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Kids' Meals, Inc.
