Celebrating new Eagles
Boy Scout Troop 125, chartered by St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, recently honored four of its newest Eagle Scouts, (pictured, from left) Lyndon Walsh, Pramit De, John Powell, Jr., and Nick Aruffo. In kindergarten, Pramit and Lyndon started the Boy Scout trail together at Roberts Elementary, joining Cub Scout Den 9. John and Nick also started early on, in Cub Scout Den 10 at The Regis School. All four boys, as Webelos, became Scout friends when they joined Pack 505 at St. Vincent de Paul, earning their Arrow of Light before crossing over to Boy Scouts Troop 125. Pramit, a junior at Bellaire High School, organized a school supply drive for Avondale House, a center for people with autism. Lyndon, a junior at Episcopal High School, organized a winter coat and clothing drive for Emergency Aid Coalition. John, a junior at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, organized teams of volunteers to rebuild a degrading bridge near Trailhead #12 on the Lone Star Hiking Trail. Nick, a junior at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, designed two garden areas and organized volunteers to improve the grounds of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Troop 125 has had 221 Eagle Scouts since the first one in January 1947.
