Bringing their A-game

Girls from around the SBMSA district participated in soccer tryouts and were placed on teams for the fall season. Kylie Torr, Ana Kate Mayhew, Courtney Whittaker, Magee Ferguson, Peyton Walsh, Sloane Miller and Melissa Saueressig (pictured, from left) were among the girls who participated in the senior-girls division tryouts, held at the Spring Branch Education Center. Masks and social distancing kept the players safe, as they arrived at the fields to participate in various skills-assessment activities. Coaches sat on the sideline to observe the athletes as they showcased their abilities in shooting, timed dribbling around cones, small-group drills and mini scrimmages.
