Hands-on training
Trisha and Randy Pollard recently purchased a Bellaire property with a new build in mind; they plan to demolish the house later this year and build their dream home. In the meantime, the Pollards handed over the keys to Bellaire Fire Chief Deacon Tittel, and the Bellaire Fire Department used the house for training. Lt. TJ Girt said they were able to conduct hands-on training exercises inside the home that they’re typically unable to practice. For two weeks, shifts of firefighters ran drills inside the home, climbing on the roof, breaking down walls and practicing life-saving skills.
