Naturally Wild Families: Homemade Holidays
The Houston Arboretum will host family friendly activities throughout December for safe and fun holiday activites.
Natural elements can really “spruce” up your holiday decorations and gift giving! In this first ever virtual Homemade Holidays, you’ll learn to make a truly HOME-made wreath, ornaments, and decorative gifts using natural and man-made materials. Each class supply package will contain enough materials to make one grapevine wreath, four fillable plastic globe ornaments, four pinecone ornaments, four cinnamon stick ornaments, and four acorn bells. All you need from home is a pair of sturdy scissors and a hot glue gun, but if you don’t have a glue gun you can purchase one (along with a package of glue) as an add-on with your class supplies.
You can pick up your supplies on Thursday, December 3 or Friday, December 4 (between 9 am and 4 pm), then join us on Saturday for an interactive, online class to learn how to put your decorations together! In particular, we’ll talk about how to wrap a wreath, how to tie a fancy bow, and fun ideas for your natural ornaments.
The class will be recorded, and the video will be sent out after the class. Registrants will receive a class link on their receipt and will need to use this link to pre-register for the class on Zoom.
