iWrite winners

Five middle-school students from The Regis School of the Sacred Heart will have original short stories, poetry, and artwork published in an upcoming kids’ anthology. Sixth grader Lucas Garza’s (pictured) artwork was selected for the cover of I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids. Children’s author Melissa Williams Murphy founded the iWrite contest to build writing confidence in children, and she publishes an anthology each year with the winning entries. Students in grades 3 through 12 can submit original work, and 100 winners are selected for publication. Other Regis winners are Warner McDowell (short story: “The Prize”), Leo Hanson (poetry: “Only the Stars”), Charlie Hough (poetry: “The Solitude of Space”), and Chase Whitman (poetry: “Saturn”).
