Race to the base
Maddie Cozart and Jessie Whitley (pictured, from left) run a drill at softball practice that ended with a perfect tag out. Maddie, a sixth grader at Presbyterian School, and Jessie, a fourth grader at St. Vincent de Paul, play for the West University Softball Association (WUSA) 12U Volts team, coached by Adam Pollock and Tom King. Thanks to the February freezing temperatures, WUSA had a delayed start to the season and some canceled games. The Volts returned to the field as soon as they could and started the regular season with pandemic precautions in place. WUSA is grateful to be able to have a spring season and is following guidelines to ensure physical distancing and safety for players, coaches, and fans.
