Miss River Oaks

Niza Garcia, Miss River Oaks 2021, and Kalia Wong, Miss River Oaks Outstanding Teen 2021, will represent River Oaks as part of the Miss Houston organization at the Miss Texas pageant in Richardson this month. Niza, a graduate of the University of Houston, is working on a biosciences master's degree at Rice University and plans to attend medical school. Niza is a fifth-grade math and science teacher and enjoys training for marathons, triathlons, and volunteering her time to increase access to STEM and arts extracurricular programs. Kalia, 14, has been dancing since she was 5. She currently dances with Dance Zone and dreams of performing on Broadway and on tour with musical artists. She auditions for commercials and TV shows and hopes to work as a model. In the fall, Kalia will attend Episcopal High School and plans to be involved in the dance program, competition team, and freshman cheer team. The winners of the Miss Texas and Miss Texas Outstanding Teen pageant will represent Texas at the Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen pageant this fall.
