Las Posadas at St. Philip's
St. Philip's will host a Las Posadas Celebration, Dec. 9-12. The community is invited to take a journey from the Sanctuary through the streets with Mary and Joseph, singing carols and offering prayers by candlelight. Each night concludes with traditional fruit drinks and sweet breads for everyone to share.
On Sunday night, the procession ends back at the church for a special service with music led by Baritone Soloist Juan Polanco and a Live Nativity scene acted out by amazing church youth! Following the short service, everyone will be invited to the Fellowship Hall for a Tamale Dinner with hot chocolate and sweets, piñatas for the children and young-at-heart adults to enjoy, and a very special hour of traditional music performed by Houston’s very own Mariachi Band: “Mariachi Luna Llena” from Rice University.
