The Myrtlea block in Wilchester enjoyed a progressive dinner on a recent Saturday evening. All residents were invited and 40 people attended. Three host houses served as stops along the way, with appetizers and cocktails at the home of Chad and Lisa Bown, dinner at the home of Patrick and Emily Growney, and dessert at the home of Stefan and Valentina Otero. Each home also had a second couple that helped with hosting duties, which included Mike and Amy Hines, Michael and Kathy Douglass, and Bret and Sara Oliver. Other neighbors chipped in by bringing bottles of wine. As guests mingled during the cocktail hour at the Bown’s home, pianist Tripp Mediomolle, age 14, provided entertainment. Neighbors were happy to reunite after a long absence of street-wide events due to Covid; some met for the first time at the progressive dinner.
