Film Screening and Writer Talk: MOXIE

BOOK-TO-MOVIE Jennifer Mathieu, novelist and Bellaire High School teacher, met actor and director Amy Poehler in Los Angeles on the set of Moxie.

The Orange Show presents the debut public screening of Moxie, a coming-of-age tale produced for Netflix and directed by and starring Amy Poehler, based on the young adult novel of the same name by Houston’s Jennifer Mathieu.

Mathieu will chat about the book and her inspiration behind it, as well as its adaptation to the screen. In addition, Girls Rock Houston bands Nobody's Daughter and Pinky Promise will give a special live performance. Enjoy a cool collaging workshop by Zine Fest Houston, led by artist Chastity Porter.

Bands begin at 7 p.m., author talk at 8, movie at 8:30.
