Guests gathered for an evening at Steak 48 to support Kids’ Meals Houston and kick off the return of the in-person Harvest Luncheon. Darrell and Kathleen Pennington and Julie and Jeff Applegate (pictured, from left) were among the 150 supporters of the organization’s mission to deliver free, healthy meals to the doorsteps of Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children. Kids’ Meals CEO Beth Harp welcomed the crowd, introduced luncheon co-chairs Kathleen Pennington and Julie Applegate, and revealed the upcoming keynote speaker, acclaimed country music star Jimmie Allen. This year’s Harvest Luncheon, scheduled for Nov. 11 at the Marriott Marquis Houston, will honor sponsors Valero, Kroger, The Astros Foundation, Drs. Nicci and Chris Greeley, and volunteers of the year Vanessa Goebel, Donna Jett, and Helen Pung.
