Valentine Sweetheart Snack Mix

Valentine’s Day, Super Bowl Sunday, and Girl Scout cookie season…all at once! Valentine Sweetheart Snack Mix covers all your bases in one super-sweet, crunchy, chewy, chocolaty swoop.

It’s almost too much to handle: Valentine’s Day, Super Bowl Sunday, and Girl Scout cookie season…all at once! How to manage the excitement? And what to snack on first?

Let us help. Valentine Sweetheart Snack Mix covers all your bases in one super-sweet, crunchy, chewy, chocolaty swoop. It’s a simple mix made Valentines-y with the addition of heart-shaped Honey Nut Cheerios and lots of pink and red sprinkles. Mini marshmallows add bits of sweet chewiness. And Girl Scout cookies! We used the basic shortbread Trefoils, but you could go classic with Thin Mints, fancy with Caramel deLites, or nutty with Peanut Butter Patties. There’s no wrong answer when it’s all covered in a thin coating of white chocolate.

Serve up a big bowl of Valentine Sweetheart Snack Mix at your Super Bowl watch party – it’s one of the munchies nobody will be able to stop munching on. Or, wrap it up in cellophane bags to give as Valentine’s Day treats. Or maybe both. Our only suggestion: have a plan, because this stuff will not hang around long.

Valentine Sweetheart Snack Mix

2 cups Life Cereal
2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios Heart Shaped Cereal
10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
10-ounce bag Valentines M&M’s
10-ounce bag Valentines Peanut M&M’s
½ box Girl Scout cookies, broken into small pieces (we used Trefoils, but use what you like)
20 ounces white melting chocolate
Pink and red sprinkles

Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a large bowl, using your hands, toss together the cereals, marshmallows, M&M’s, and Girl Scout cookies.

Place the white chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 50 percent power for 30 seconds. Stir. Repeat at 15-second intervals until the chocolate is smooth and pourable.

Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal mix and stir to coat everything with the chocolate. Turn the snack mix out onto the two baking sheets and spread to the edges. Sprinkle generously with sprinkles. Refrigerate 30 minutes until the chocolate solidifies.
