Falling in love again…65 years later

High school sweethearts Jerry Hill and Mary Nelson (pictured), both 85, went together to the senior prom and then parted ways. Flash forward 65 years, and they have recently reconnected and rekindled their romance. After growing up and dating in Muncie, Indiana, Jerry went to college, then joined the military, and eventually moved to Houston to work at the NASA Johnson Space Center. Mary remained in Indiana, got married, and had three daughters. After both Jerry and Mary were widowed, they reconnected through a Facebook alumni group in the spring of 2020. Mary shared with the Facebook group that her local pastor left her church for an opportunity in Houston. Jerry responded that the pastor had come to town and was now at his church. From there, the couple corresponded and fell back in love via FaceTime. After delaying an in-person meeting during the pandemic, they finally spent time together and Jerry asked Mary to move to Houston and live with him at his home in the Buckingham senior living community. The happy couple are enjoying being back together the second time around.
