For the love of West U parks
Neighbors and friends of West University Place packed the Four Seasons Hotel Downtown for the 31st annual Park Lovers’ Ball, A Park for All Seasons. Auction co-chairs Catherine Hamilton and Jordan Jewett, and event co-chairs Whitney Walsh and Mitra Woody (pictured, from left) joined fellow supporters to celebrate the shared love of community parks and raised nearly half a million dollars to support West University Parks. Whitney and Marc Walsh and Mitra and Josh Woody chaired the sold-out event that featured the popular whiskey blackjack game, wine pull, silent and live auctions, heads-or-tails game, and the inaugural putting-green game. Reverend Katie Montgomery Mears, senior pastor of St. Luke’s Methodist Church, gave the invocation, and the event was emceed by West U resident Ilona Carson, previously of ABC 13. Guests hit the dance floor to enjoy Adrian Michael and the Greenway Band and danced until midnight.
