49th Annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour

Galveston Historical Foundation opens the doors to Galveston’s architectural history through public tours of privately owned homes during its annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour. Large, small, and everything in between, the 2023 tour will have something for everyone! In addition to the tours, the annual event features numerous special events, allowing guests unique experiences in many of the tour homes and historic sites across the island.

Tours are held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 6, 7, 13 & 14, 2023. Tickets are available online or on the day of at any of the tour homes.

Special Events: 

History on Tap Dinner at the 1890 McKinney-McDonald House*
Fri., May 5 – 7 p.m.
A specially created dinner held in the 2023 Homes Tour cover house!

History on Tap Dinner at the 1920 City National Bank Building*
Fri., May 12 – 7 p.m.
Dine inside a home tour home and one of Galveston Historical Foundation’s newest completed projects.

Silk Stocking Tour and Wine Tasting
Sat., May 6 – 5 p.m.
A special evening highlighting five of the neighborhood’s historic homes at a special block party.

Homes Tour Happy Hour featuring Menard Margaritas
Sat., May 13 – 5 p.m.
Galveston’s oldest residence opens its doors for an afternoon of music, drink, and tours.

Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch at the Garten Verein*
Sun., May 14 – 10 a.m.
A Mother’s Day tradition returns to this year’s Homes Tour in the breathtaking 1880 Garten Verein!

Morning Photography Walk and Tour
Each Day of the Tour – 8 a.m.
Enjoy a guided tour through some of the island’s most notable areas.

Lunch and Learn Lectures
Each Day of the Tour – 11:30 a.m.
Galveston Historical Foundation invites you to a Homes Tour debut with our Lunch and Learn series.

Galveston Island Historic Trolly Tours*
Sat., May 6 & 13  – 3 & 5 p.m.
Guided tours through some of the island’s most notable properties from the comfort of a rubber-wheeled trolley.

*Tickets are non-refundable. In case of inclement weather, the tour may be discontinued temporarily or for the remainder of the day. Smoking, photos, food, drinks, and pets are not permitted.
