On the path to research
Baylor University freshman and Bellaire High School graduate Jessica Sigmon (pictured) was named to the Pathfinders Program. After being selected through a competitive application process, Jessica is now among a group of Baylor students who have access to undergraduate research opportunities and a priority status to compete for the McNair Scholars Program, named for Ronald McNair, the physicist who served as a mission specialist on NASA’s Challenger mission. The Pathfinders Program prepares qualified undergraduates to compete for the McNair Scholars Program by providing guidance including monthly workshops and a partnership with a mentor to explore research interests, learn interview skills, and prepare an application for the scholars program.
