Stephanie Fleischer-Bell, Amie and Corbett Parker, and Meghan and Kenneth Lutschg (pictured, from left) celebrated at the Bellaire Nature Discovery Center’s (NDC) 29th Annual Twilight: A Toast to the Coast in Russ Pitman Park. Longtime ABC 13 anchor and NDC neighbor Tom Koch emceed the evening, and guests dined and danced surrounded by native wildflowers, greenery, coastal coral and turtle shells, and twinkling fairy lights. Marybeth Flaherty and Meredith Flaherty-Symonds led the silent auction, and guests enjoyed photo ops in the gala’s Mermaid Grotto with “Ms. Mermaid” and among the Center’s wildflower gardens with a fluttering “Ms. Butterfly.” Other featured guests included NDC’s animal ambassadors Clover the Dutch rabbit and Blaze the bearded dragon who were available for encounters with guests. This year’s Twilight guests raised more than $40,000 to support NDC’s nature education programs and refurbish raised sensory garden beds.
