Sophie Lighvani

Hey everyone! My name is Sophie Lighvani and I'm a sophomore at the Kinkaid School. I've lived in Houston my whole life, and it feels so surreal to be writing for the magazine that I've seen on my front doorstep every month. Ever since getting The Buzz and pointing out pictures of my fellow classmates to my parents, I knew that I wanted that to be me someday—not the person in the article, but the person writing it. When I'm not writing, I look forward to my annual hike when visiting family, which would ideally be more frequent if Houston had any good hiking places (or Texas, for that matter). I also am in the trial and error stage of making homemade sourdough bread, and I appreciate a good room temperature of 72 degrees. One thing that I am proud of about Kinkaid is that I just launched its inaugural radio station, Falcon Frequency, so that students like me who love broadcast journalism have more opportunities to participate!
