Lassos and leashes

Roberta Konicki, Ernie Manouse, and Kristin Guthrie (pictured, from left) were among more than 225 animal lovers at the 12th annual Wags and Whiskers luncheon and Pet Fashion Show. The lunch event held at Hotel ZaZa, Museum District, welcomed Western wear-clad supporters and raised more than $130,000 for Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston’s Animeals program. Lassos and Leashes, chaired by Konicki and Guthrie with honorary chair Manouse, supports programming to provide pet food, toys, and vet supplies to pets of homebound seniors in the Interfaith Ministries Meals on Wheels program. Emcee Casey Curry welcomed guests and four-legged furry cowpokes to the rodeo-chic event honoring Frank Billingsley, Houston Public Media executive producer and animal lover. Fashion show catwalk winners included Brittany Diller with Buttercup (first place), Ava Khademi Deljou with Moose (second place), and Susan Vaughan and Karl Winter with Molly and Schatzi (third place).
