Houston Ballet Guild president Lenni Burke announced a free event, “Oppor-Tutu-nity Night,” Aug. 26, 6-8 p.m., at the United Way, 50 Waugh Drive. Wine and light bites will be served as guests learn about fun events they can take a twirl at by becoming a ballet guild member. RSVP to [email protected]. Also, Jo Furr, Shawn Stephens, Beth Zdeblick and Kris Abercrombie have planned a fall coffee at a River Oaks home. And finally, “The Guild Goes to the Ballet,” Sept. 28, an annual trip planned by Sam Gershen and Katrina Arnim, and a winter special event organized by Vanessa Sendukas, Cheryl Gallagher and Mignon Gill will keep members in a high jump before the spring events. For more information, call Patsy Chapman at 713-523-6300.
