The annual Spring Thing Market, orchestrated by Chapelwood’s United Methodist Women, will start with a 5-8:30 p.m. preview party on March 3. Tickets for the preview party are $15. That will be followed by the shopping market March 4, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and March 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The event will feature more than 80 quality vendors selling items including jewelry, clothing and accessories, home and seasonal decorations (spring and Easter) and gourmet foods. There’s also a silent auction featuring sports tickets, vacation-home stays and more. Spring Thing benefits women’s and children’s missions, with last year’s event raising nearly $90,000. More than 200 Chapelwood volunteers work on the event for six months, led by the 2015 Spring Thing Market Steering Committee: chair Dawn Powers, co-chair Kelly Hicks and committee members Dameron Baird, Diana Bates, Jami Brown, Heather Burkhart, Robin Conner, Jennifer Cooksey, Roz Cooley, Stephenie Cox, Cassandra Emerson, Katie Fields, Beth Gentner, Suzanne Harter, Carrie Hoye, Becca Howard, Betsy Humphrey, Lory Margraves, Sherry Menger, Jennifer Moore, Rita Morica, Ruth Odom, Stephanie Phillips, Cathy Read, Pam Reynolds, Margaret Sanders, Anne Selis, Teresa Skrabanek, Julie Treadwell, Johanne Washington, Carmon White and Karyl White.
